HARRISBURG – Following through with a promise to promote greater transparency in expenses incurred by members and staff in the House of Representatives, House Majority Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) has offered a resolution to amend the House Rules to subject expense reports to Pennsylvania’s Right to Know Law.

“In light of excessive redactions of details in expense records provided to the public, I made a commitment to ensure that this practice would never happen again in our Chamber, “Cutler said.

The proposal, introduced as House Resolution 840, was referred to the Rules Committee where it awaits further consideration.

“We should always err on the side of public transparency. We all answer to our constituents for every vote we make, and every dollar we spend, and I am hopeful my Democrat colleagues will join me in approving this rule change.”
